You can fly... but the cocoon has to go!

TERRAP -
In 1982 the National Institute of Mental Health showed that almost one out of every ten people experience anxiety. Since 1982, we have come a long way in understanding anxiety and its related disorders.
Anxiety and panic attacks may have been part of our predisposition or may have been triggered by one of several events. Never the less, if anxiety or panic is holding your potential back, you need to take charge. If you have tried to work it out yourself or with a therapist but it's still troublesome, I would urge you to contact us.
Over Thirty years as a specialized Therapist and Consultant in the field of anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, and related disorders Joseph A. LaFrance has amassed over 40,000 effective treatment hours. LaFrance is the Director of TERRAP® Programs for Pennsylvania and Connecticut area and is the National Consultant for this Program
For The Perspective Client . . .
If you are suffering from severe anxiety or panic attacks the chances are, you are sensitized and highly suggestible to fearful physical/emotional states, thoughts, or feelings. Therefore, what you read (and how you feel) is of importance. There are many good books out there, but they may not be for everyone.
Many years ago (30+ years - before much was known regarding Anxiety Disorders or Agoraphobia), an Australian Physician named Dr. Claire Weekes wrote "Hope and Help for Your Nerves". Need less to say, thousands of people easily identified and found reassurance from her book. Several years later, while in New York, Dr. Weekes gave me permission to use her book as a teaching aid. Today, most, if not all, of my clients have read her book. If you relate to Dr. Weekes' book I'm positive you will easily relate to our treatment.
When you read Dr. Weekes' book I recommend that you read from the Index out - in other words, pick out from the Index, areas that you are concerned with. High suggestibility indicates the possibility you may over identify with emotional states that may not be productive for you.
Remember, books may help you with reassurance and increased knowledge but will not take the place of individual therapy with a specialist in Anxiety Disorders.
